摘要:本文旨在从文化视角探讨英语习语的翻译。由于英语习语具有典型的地方文化特色,因此本文侧重从地理、历史、风俗传统、宗教等方面来讨论文化因素对英语习语翻译的影响。并由此提出了英语习语翻译的基本方法:直译、直译加注、意象转换、删减法,以帮助人们对英语习语的理解和正确使用。同时,促进了中西方文化的交流。

On the Translation of English Idioms from Cultural Perspective
Abstract: Idioms are typically localized in a culture; therefore this paper attempts to discuss the cultural influences on the translation of the English idioms from geography, historical development, customs and religion. And then several translation methods such as literal translation, Image-shift translation, Literal translation with notes, addition and omission are discussed, which will definitely improve the English idioms learning and promote the intercultural communication.
